The introduction of open, Java™ based platforms such as JavaCard™ and J2ME™ to mobile devices will change the world of mobile applications significantly. Applications can be downloaded via OTA (over-the-air) either to the SIM card or the phone. Java™ paves the way for all kinds of new interactive, graphical and secure applications.
